How You'll Perform the Role

Job Title:

Systems Operator

Position Summary:

The Assistant Systems Operator position is designed to support the Systems Operator in the tasks of maintaining material systems and regrind flow. Critical duties of this position include filter preventive maintenance.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain clean filters/dust collectors for all systems.
    • Systems 1, 2, 3, 4 and silo dust collectors
  • Assist keeping System Room(s) and vacuum/filter room(s) clean.
  • Must have heightened knowledge and understanding of scan gun use and inventory control.
  • Properly complete all scan transactions consistently and correctly.
  • Assist with railcar hook-up and pumping into designated silo(s).
  • Assist with bulk truck hook-up and pumping into designated silo(s).
  • Remove scrap material, regrind, cardboard from production areas as needed.
    • Assist with disposal of all debris and purge blocks once cooled.
  • Keep all areas around machines clean from debris. Maintain clear work areas around machines at all times.
    • Clean up around trash compactor and open top dumpsters
    • Clean up around M Lines and back walls
    • Empty production trash dumpsters
    • Keep areas properly maintained at all times (5S shadow boards)
  • Compact and bail cardboard as needed.
  • Maintain rail yard cleanliness.
  • Assist the Systems Operator to ensure all systems support production needs.
  • Operate the floor scrubber/sweeper as needed.
  • Must be able to safely operate forklift as needed.

What We Need From You

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
  • Must be forklift trained and certified
  • Normal dexterity required
  • Climbing onto platforms and some lifting (up to 20 lbs) will be required
  • Good attendance and punctuality required
  • Ability to work well in a team environment & motivate others within the team
  • Ability to operate devices such as scales and scan guns
  • Ability to work in dusty, hot and noisy environments (safety equipment provided)
