Job Description

Position Purpose: Develops, maintains and executes quality procedures to ensure requirements are met per MJE and customer standards and specifications to achieve superior quality and reliability.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Performs inspection analysis to ensure that the company's and customers' quality requirements are met on assigned projects.
  • Reviews quality and interaction with inspectors and production personnel.
  • Participates in the generation and implementation of defect reduction policies and procedures.
  • Assists in identifying the root cause of a problem and instituting corrective actions.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of quality assurance/control policies and procedures.
  • Meets with customer. quality representatives and project management personnel to discuss and resolve quality issues.
  • Prepares correspondence, presentations and reports for key customers.
  • Extensive travel to projects is required.

Knowledge | Skills | Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of utility/engineering construction terms and methods, including inspection procedures.
  • Proven communication, effective human relations and persuasive interpersonal skills.
  • Proven organizational and documentation skills.
  • Excellent computer skills and software proficiency.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to anticipate and meet internal customer needs.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in quality control, project management, engineering or related work. Experience in a utility construction environment a plus.

Work Environment

  • Must be able to remain standing approximately 50% of the time.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, climbing.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and vendors and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds.
