The purpose of the Elec/Inst Maintenance Technician A position is to safely maintain the plant instrument and electrical equipment to meet the I/E needs of the Water Products Business at the Charleston Plant. The key deliverable is effective and timely repairs to coordinate with production schedules to produce and package product at the lowest cost in sufficient volumes to support the sales that are required to achieve the pre-tax profit target(s) established for the business, consistent with regulatory and EHS directives. Value creation comes from application of sound craft and maintenance principles.

Primary Role Responsibilities:

  • Execute maintenance work in the most efficient and effective manner to minimize plant I/E maintenance costs and maintain high levels of production run time.

Maintenance:

  • Perform daily work with maximum efficiency to meet department, plant, and Water goals.
  • Work to eliminate the downtime related to the plant I/E equipment.
  • Clean and maintain tools and test equipment.
  • Maintain close communications with maintenance and production employees for efficient and safe repair of plant equipment.
  • Must be able to work overtime as directed by supervision in support of the plant needs.
  • Assure compliance with all PSM and regulatory requirements.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Keep accurate records and data. Access and input pertinent records in plant computer networks.

Quality Assurance:

  • Provide effective repairs to avoid callbacks.
  • Expedite the repair of all plant I/E equipment and perform in a quality manner.

Assure compliance with ISO requirements.

Quality Responsibility:

Maintenance of ISO 9000:2000 certifications for the businesses by complying with processes, procedures and instructions for all activities in which this role participates.

Safety Responsibility:

Is knowledgeable and complies with all pertinent safety policies, rules and regulations.

Skill Requirements:

  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Chemical plant experience - preferably maintenance related.
  • Plan and work independently with little supervision.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate maintenance aptitude and skills.

Working Conditions:

Plant and Office Environment.

Ability to perform essential functions of the job including lifting up to 55 pounds, climbing ladders, working on elevated platforms and in confined areas.

Minimal Travel

Note: This position will most likely be 12hr Rotating Shift.
