Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Security/Network Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing firewall next-generation services, as well as experience in managing Windows Operating Systems security. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our network infrastructure while implementing and maintaining cutting-edge security measures to protect against potential threats.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the implementation, configuration, and management of firewall next-generation services.
  2. Manage Windows Operating Systems security, including patch management, configuration hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
  3. Design, deploy, and maintain network security solutions to safeguard company assets and data.
  4. Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.
  5. Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and respond promptly to security incidents.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement security policies and procedures.
  7. Stay updated on emerging threats and security technologies to proactively address potential risks.
  8. Provide technical expertise and support to resolve security-related issues and inquiries.
  9. Perform regular maintenance and updates to ensure the effectiveness of security systems and tools.
  10. Document security configurations, procedures, and incident response plans.
  11. Participate in security awareness training and promote a culture of security across the organization.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Monitoring: Perform daily monitoring routines during working hours and analyze alarms from security products. Provide feedback to relevant teams regarding the configurations of safety monitoring products.
  2. Incident Investigation: Dig into potential security incidents to determine their legitimacy, distinguishing between real attacks and false positives.
  3. Incident Triage and Prioritization: Assess and prioritize detected incidents to optimize resource allocation and minimize enterprise risk.
  4. Incident Response Coordination: Engage with multiple stakeholders and utilize various tools to orchestrate incident response efforts, ensuring timely and effective remediation.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Maintaining Relevance: Stay abreast of the evolving cyber threat landscape, including new and trending attacks. Ensure security systems are updated to detect emerging threats effectively.
  2. Patching Vulnerable Systems: Identify, apply, and test patches for vulnerable enterprise systems and software to mitigate potential exploitation.
  3. Infrastructure Management: Identify, deploy, configure, and manage security infrastructure as per evolving organizational needs and cyber threat landscape.
  4. Addressing Support Tickets: Provide support to the organization's employees by addressing security-related support tickets promptly and effectively.
  5. Reporting to Management: Communicate security costs and return on investment to management effectively, demonstrating the value of security initiatives to the business.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
  2. Proven experience in network security administration, firewall management, and Windows Operating Systems security.
  3. In-depth knowledge of next-generation firewall technologies and security best practices.
  4. Some understanding of networking protocols and infrastructure components.
  5. Proficiency in security tools such as intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, and endpoint security solutions.
  6. Experience in managing Windows servers and workstations, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
  7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex security issues.
  8. Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across teams and departments.
  9. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNA Security, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, etc.) are a plus.
  10. Ability to adapt to changing security threats and technologies in a fast-paced environment.

  6. Efficient Time Management: Capacity to prioritize tasks and utilize time efficiently.
  7. Error Control Check: Attention to detail and the ability to ensure accuracy in all tasks and actions.
