ATI is currently seeking a Senior Learning and Development Manager to support or Specialty Materials Business Unit. This position is located at our Monroe, NC facility. A successful Senior Learning and Development Manager will be responsible for the planning, coordinating, and delivering of training and development activities for hourly and salaried populations. As a Senior Learning and Development Manager, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of a comprehensive training strategy for the manufacturing workforce in addition to the delivery of salaried development programs. Some facilitation of training will be required. The Senior Learning and Development Manager will be a subject matter expert to other leaders within the business unit who require guidance on best practices and how to engage their audience.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate learning programs, courses and workshops, across a multitude of subjects.
  • Works with and supports the company's L&D Director on creation of enterprise-wide programs and represents their business unit's needs in such discussions.
  • Implements testing of new training programs and provides valuable feedback to continuously improve current and future training.
  • Demonstrates expertise in learning and development subjects such as gap assessment, selecting delivery mechanisms, and training delivery.
  • Assists in maintaining accurate and confidential records and data related to learning and development matters and helps to identify areas for improvement or intervention.
  • Works closely with subject matter experts to gain an in-depth understanding of the content and knowledge to be transferred to the targeted audience.
  • Provide talent development consulting and project implementation in support of business objectives.
  • Identify, design, develop and implement products and services that support team members and leader development.
  • Systematically assess performance gaps and identify root causes to performance improvement needs; viewing the organization as a system, recognizing that the success of the whole is dependent of the integration, understanding, and the inclusion of all segments; considering the "big picture with the ability to take complex problems and simplify concepts for the end-user.
  • Partner with senior leadership and participate in operational reviews and other business engagements to prioritize talent development needs in a way that balances short- and long-term cycles, resource constraints, and anticipates impact to the business.
  • Effectively use consulting and influencing skills to develop valued relationships with internal clients, developing stakeholder relationships with key functional and client groups
  • Ability to engaged with a Union and Non unionized workforces and understand the complexities adherent to such environments and working relationships.
  • Engage in business and talent initiatives to help leaders create and maintain effective teams and build leadership capability throughout the business unit, and company.
  • Organize and execute complex programs and projects, delivering end-end results to clients through successful program design and implementation.
  • Collaborate with client groups (HR, BU) to create and publish joint reporting of initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of learning and/or talent development experience
  • 5 years of experience in learning and/or talent development in a manufacturing environment with an hourly workforce

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years reporting into a business and/or function with cross-matrix accountability and decision-making responsibility.
  • 5+ years experience in developing facilitator-led training, computer-based training, and Web-based training.

Skills

  • Excellent leadership capabilities with the ability to get results through people.
  • Excellent analytical skill in obtaining, synthesizing, and reporting data, both narrative and quantitative. Ability to analyze cost/ of various approaches to determine benefit.
  • Detail oriented and ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
  • Instructional design expertise: must be capable of managing a process to produce interventions to address the talent and business needs using a structured and aesthetically pleasing approach.
  • Proven expertise in facilitating formal classes (ILT and CBT), managing meetings and group processes to ensure that the objectives of the client group/stakeholders are achieved.
  • Excellent communication skills with executive presence, including the ability to present to small and large audiences.
  • Ability to consult, negotiate and manage projects to time, budget and requirements.
  • Demonstrated success working in a team environment on multiple projects with changing priorities.
