Olin Corporation is seekingaProcess Controls Engineer in Charleston, TN to support the site's process control system and data collection assets. The Process Controls Engineer is a technical resource that will support process control systems across Operations with a modern DCS as well as maintain and provide technical support of existing control systems, thereby maximizing value to the business in a safe and environmentally sound manner.These roles resolve plant issues, drive improvements, and share knowledge to strengthen the performance of the team. The Process Controls Engineer will work closely with other individuals and teams to establish and achieve annual spending plans, production commitments to the business, and cost goals.

Process Control Engineer Essential Job Functions:

  • Support control system modernizations as needed to meet objectives of safety, security, operability and maintainability. Work with plant area owners and IE Technicians to troubleshoot and improve process control systems in those plant areas to meet objectives.
  • Identify opportunities in migration strategies and implement change to avoid pitfalls, then leverage the lesson learned up through the Program Management team to ensure maximum impact across the Program
  • Define implementation plans with vendors, System Integrators, developers and end-users
  • Organize new working processes and coach the end-user, along with providing input for developing and maintaining training documentation for application users
  • Coordinate with MES application-related efforts with the team and application users in mind, and assist in the identification and development of Most Effective Technologies (MET)
  • Stay informed on the critical issues to address from application user group and help to define the required timing for resolution of critical issues
  • Assist with FEL-2 and FEL-3 estimates and engineering by providing plant level knowledge and insight, or work with the plant to generate the information required
  • Work independently as a system owner, providing care and troubleshooting of process automation systems and their associated networks and interfaces
  • Identify and manage Preventative Maintenance tasks and health checks for the systems that you support, and provide corrective support in response to a system error condition or failure as the first point of escalation from the plant

* Process Control Engineer Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree* in Engineering; Process Automation, Electrical or Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience programming or equivalent Process Control industry experience required; experience in chemical, petrochemical, or manufacturing industries preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and work in a team environment.
  • Experience with DeltaV (DCS), Allen Bradley (PLC), Aspen Tech, Primavera P6, Smart Plant, SAP (S4)preferred.
  • Strong customer service and project management skills.
  • Prior chemical plant with PSM (Process Safety Management) experience preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and must possess a valid US Driver's License.
