Join our winning team as a Technology Development Manager in Charleston, TN. In your role, you will apply in-depth knowledge of Chlor Alkali technology to assist the Chlor Alkali business to maximize the efficiency and value creation from the various diaphragm cell plants across North America. You will work across Olin to develop best practices and most effective technology for diaphragm cell equipment and leverage these, where appropriate, to maximize reliability and promote consistent operating discipline. You will also lead the the development and testing labs and pilot plants in Charleston, TN and serve as the primary coordinator of all Chlor Alkali development activities.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Lead the Development Team in full compliance with all regulatory and company requirements
  • Drive continuous innovation and advancement of key Chlor Alkali development strategies including: non-asbestos diaphragm program, electrode coating, brine treatment studies, bleach advancements and others
  • Responsible for definition of diaphragm cell technology minimum requirements in the Chlor Alkali safety and loss prevention guidelines and execution of process technology reviews
  • Develop and maintain Most Effective Technology and Best Practice documentation for all diaphragm based Chlor Alkali equipment
  • Analyze reliability data and assist plants in improving asset capability to maximize up time and minimize costs for Diaphragm Cell equipment
  • Evaluate project scopes and develop technology packages for upgrade or new construction projects
  • Manage and motivate staff; review and assess performance, develop and build employee skills, support their professional development and enable employees to optimize their contribution to the department
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree* in Engineering; Chemical or Mechanical engineering discipline preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years Manufacturing, R&D or Technology experience in Chlor Alkali industry
  • Prior leadership experience in a related role preferred
  • Position requires up to 25% travel, occasionally international
  • Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)and possess a valid US Driver's license
