Stanley Consultants, Inc is seeking a Structural Department Manager for our Des Moines, IA office.

Essential duties include:

  • Structures Department leadership managing operations of current and potential future members.
  • Structures Department leadership managing tasks and/or projects under contractually prescribed scopes of work, milestone schedules, and allocated budgets.
  • Assists in development of marketing strategies, written proposals, and innovative concepts for new business pursuits.
  • Leads by example, mentors by experience
  • Represents Structures Department in coordinating with company Structures Group operations (several offices) and company Transportation Market operations (several offices).
  • Professional Client interaction
  • Leads the analysis/design, review, and quality control effort on various structural assignments
  • Develops reports, specifications, drawings, and related documents to meet client requirements
  • Familiarity with all phases of Project Development from planning & studies, through final design, and into construction and operation.
  • Equal navigational skills - steadfast in course direction and flexible in unexpected changes in direction.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science (Master of Science preferred) in Civil Engineering with a major emphasis on structural design
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years of bridge design and structures experience
  • Must possess experience working on significant bridge projects for a state department of transportation
  • PE required; Must possess the ability to obtain IA PE within six months of hire
  • Previous project management level experience
  • Prior experience working for a transportation agency or consulting engineering firm
  • Knowledge and experience with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Manual
  • Knowledge and experience with the IowaDOT including the Bridge Design Manual and Bridge Standards beneficial, but not required
  • Working knowledge of structural analysis software such as the LEAP Bridge Suite, STAAD, LPile, GROUP, and other similar analysis software
  • Working knowledge of Microstation and OpenBridge Designer beneficial, but not required

Base Compensation: $107,200 - $155,000
