General Information:

Hitachi Energy in Alamo, TN is looking for a Summer Intern to join our team. This is an entry-level position that will follow all safety and work procedures. This person will be willing to work the shift or hours as need to support our O Plus Dry Bushing Assembly Area

Your Responsibilities:

• Handle assembly materials, some being hazardous, such as ethyl alcohol, cleaning solutions, gaskets, O-rings, machined components (aluminum, copper, brass, stainless steel), zinc oxide discs, epoxy compounds, fiberglass, cardboard packaging, and wood crates.
• Work within a team structure with minimal supervision on routine tasks
• Continuously train on new equipment and processes within the assigned area
• Read and comprehend safety procedures, work instructions, assembly drawings and wiring schematics.
• Operate and learn specialized internal programs needed to perform job functions.
• Complete assignments and projects that will drive improvements in all our KPIs.
• Work closely with the Area supervisor, Manufacturing Engineer and Quality Engineer to understand the process, solve problems and drive improvement.
• Participate in kaizen events as required or assigned.

Your Background:

• Degree or pursuing a degree in Industrial or Manufacturing engineering.
• Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
• Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
• Flexible and willing to work assigned shift and hours.
• Able to work in a technical environment with strict process controls.
• Able to work on site for the duration of the assignment.
