Stanley Consultants is looking to expand its Construction, Engineering, Inspection (CEI) team with the addition of a qualified Project Administrator/Project Engineers (Resident Project Representative). This position will perform a variety of assignments requiring application of standard construction engineering and inspection techniques, FDOT standards and specifications.

Essential duties include:

  • Receives general instructions regarding assignments and is expected to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of construction related work problems
  • Directs and assigns specific tasks to inspectors and assists in all phases of the CEI construction project.
  • Prepares reports and coordinates project meetings.
  • Assures the quality of the contractor's work.
  • Responsible for the progress and final estimates throughout the construction project duration
  • Recognizes construction problems and applies standard techniques and procedures to solve the problem
  • Recommends field changes to drawings and specifications
  • Supervises field inspection staff, directs and assigns specific tasks
  • Maintains daily contact with client and contractors to discuss construction activities
  • Attends construction meetings with client and contractors
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Background requirements include:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering OR non-degreed individuals must have eight (8) years of responsible and related engineering experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of engineering experience in primary control of the construction of major road or bridge structures, overseeing two or more inspectors and support staff.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
  • Excellent visualization, communication and documentation skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet) and an individual capable of performing in an unsupervised capacity.
  • Proven ability to distribute learned knowledge to Client, Contractor, other project personnel, Inspectors, and Material Testing Technicians.
  • Ability to assist Senior Project Engineer/Construction Manager with many of their tasks and be able to fill this role temporarily in their absence.
  • Aptitude to act as a positive representative of the Stanley Consultants, Inc. core values and an active participation in an outside professional organization or internal Stanley committees (i.e., Group Safety Committee, MAC, etc.).
  • Minimum CTQP Qualifications and Certifications needed, which can be obtained within 6 months of employment:
    • CTQP Final Estimates Level II
    • FDOT Advanced MOT
    • CTQP Quality Control Manager

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The position requires the ability to work at and easily maneuver around construction sites in various weather conditions, lift and transport up to 50 lbs., and possibly climb ladders, scaffolding, trenches etc. Fear of heights or confined spaces could create a significant hardship.

OTHER:

This position may require some work assignments beyond the local area. Work hours of this position are not defined and may vary week to week based on the times the general contractor is on-site performing substantial work activities.

This position will be required to operate a company vehicle. A mandatory prerequisite to operating a company vehicle is maintaining an acceptable driving record.
