HDR currently seeking a Senior Transportation Project and Client Manager to join our Tennessee Transportation Team. The duties of the Senior Project Manager are listed below.

  • Plan, direct and monitor all aspects multidiscipline transportation infrastructure projects
  • Will play a key role in business development activities for local market clients to maximize HDR's market share. Will also ensure that HDR is positioned with appropriate staff and technical capabilities for these pursuits. Understands client upcoming needs, promotes client's perception of HDR services, identifies pursuits, makes go/no-go recommendations and oversees proposal preparation
  • Establish client relations and lead marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
  • Maintain client communication, satisfaction and market awareness
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
  • Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project development to complete documents on schedule
  • Preparation for and participation in interviews with clients, as required
  • Work with the Business/Accounting Leadership for project reviews
  • Implement QA/QC procedures
  • Supervise staff and act as mentor for less-experienced Project Managers and engineers
  • Participation in Professional Organizations to help establish and provide recognition of HDR in the local market.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • PE in Tennessee or ability to obtain through reciprocity
  • 15 years of related experience
  • 10 years of project management experience
  • Proven capabilities to lead multi-discipline design team and develop strong client relationships.
  • Major project design experience is a must.
  • Aptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications in Highway Engineering such as Bentley ORD or Microstation
  • Transportation project experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 20 years of experience in highway location and design;
  • TDOT project management experience
  • Nashville, Memphis, or Chattanooga resident or willing to relocate
  • Master's degree
  • PMP certification
