Company Overview

The National Women’s Law Center fights for gender justice—in the courts, in public policy, and in our society—working across the issues that are central to the lives of women and girls. We use the law in all its forms to change culture and drive solutions to the gender inequity that shapes our society and to break down the barriers that harm all of us—especially women of color, LGBTQ people, and low-income women and families. For nearly 50 years, we have been on the leading edge of every major legal and policy victory for women.

Making a Difference for Women
The Center has an experienced, committed staff of over 80 who tackle the most important challenges facing women and their families. Through research, analysis, advocacy and public education, we win policy changes that improve the lives of women and families.

Because of the Center’s work, a woman in an office building or an Army tank has more protection against discrimination and more opportunity than ever before. A high school or college student has more chances to play sports and reap the benefits. And a family has better access to affordable health coverage.

Our Work

The National Women’s Law Center advances gender justice in the courts, in the states, in the press, in our movement, and in Congress and our federal government—working across issues that are central to the lives of women and girls. We use the law in all its forms to change culture and drive solutions toward gender equity.

Our Impact

The Center has been a leader in the landmark legal and public policy advances that have dramatically improved the lives of women and their families for more than 40 years.

Because of the Center’s work, a woman in an office building or an Army tank has more protection against discrimination and more opportunity than ever before.
