Job/Internship Description
Job Description

This internship provides candidates the opportunity to experience the magic of Make-A-Wish firsthand by directly contributing to the wish planning process. Interns will work directly with our Wish Architects on the planning and execution of wishes.

Daily Assignments May Include:

  • Researching travel information, vendors, special wish activities
  • Putting together and mailing goody bags and packets for the wish family
  • Pulling wish itineraries and populating with wish logistic details
  • Identify vendors for local wish experiences and requesting discounts/donations
  • Assist with data entry and pulling wish related reports
  • Other duties as needed

Time Commitment: Two - three full days per week from January to late April/early May. Hybrid environment required.

Requirements

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment
  • Desire to contribute to the mission of Make-A-Wish

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework in Social Work, Events Management, Non-Profit Management, Medicine, and/or Nursing

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to commute to our downtown Chicago office (we are located in the River North neighborhood)
  • Minimum age for all internships is 18
  • Selected candidates will be asked to participate in a criminal background check.
