Stanley Consultants is seeking an Architectural Department Manager (Senior Architect) for our Denver office located in Centennial, CO. The successful candidate will be well versed in the architectural design process and project delivery for Federal and Military buildings and facilities and be able to lead and develop a team of architects to deliver these projects. This individual will provide architectural and project management expertise and leadership on Federal and Military projects including concept, preliminary and final design, preparation of construction documents, project scheduling, and overall project management. This position requires project management experience with Federal agency projects with emphasis on concept, preliminary design and final design. Must be able to work effectively and communicate regularly with Federal clients. Prior experience with a consulting architect/engineering organization and a proven track record of successful Federal project delivery is important too. This position offers exciting challenges and opportunities for managing all activities related to project scope, schedule, cost, quality, communications, and resources; mentoring young staff architects, assisting in market business development and participating in professional organizations and technical committees. You will be responsible for the following:

  • Leads, directs, and mentors Architectural design staff.
  • Capable of resourcing department staff and meeting company metrics for utilization performance.
  • Determines staffing requirements and makes recommendations for hiring staff.
  • Participates in goal setting and goal achievement process for direct reports.
  • Provides department status, performance and forecasts to the Group Manager (direct supervisor) on a regular basis.
  • Evaluates client needs and identifies requirements.
  • Prepares and modifies reports, specifications, plans and designs for projects.
  • Evaluates need for design changes and makes appropriate recommendations.
  • Assists in the development of marketing strategies for architectural project opportunities.
  • Attends onsite and offsite client meetings.
  • Adheres to company standards for quality assurance and quality control as defined in the quality manual.
  • Participates in project scoping, fee estimating and proposal preparation, interviews, and negotiations.
  • Reviews department project(s) after award to collaborate on work procedures/sequences and developing schedules, budgets, staffing, sub consultant involvement, and progress billings.
  • Forms a project team and sees that responsibilities are assigned, and the execution of tasks are begun and completed according to schedule.
  • Serves as Project Manager on projects
  • Meets with client management as necessary during the term of a project to resolve issues and to obtain approvals at the project’s completion.
  • Ability to prepare architectural construction drawings utilizing AutoCAD and Revit
  • Ability to travel up to 15% CONUS and OCONUS

Requirements:

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university. Must possess a minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be a US Registered Architect. LEED accreditation a plus.
  • Experience with US military building codes and standards (UFC) and master planning is a plus. Demonstrated capabilities and success in delivering medium to large projects.
  • Ability to engage on multi-oce projects, and multiple projects concurrently. Thorough understanding of inter-disciplinary design coordination.
  • Knowledge of construction techniques and an ability to read plans and specications. Requires moderate AutoCAD and Revit skills
