Stanley Consultants is currently hiring for a Senior Bridge Engineer for our Centennial, Colorado or Boise, Idaho office. This position provides both technical expertise and successful project delivery for the design of transportation structures such as bridges, culverts, and earth retaining structures. Projects may also include bridge inspection/evaluation and structural evaluation and rehabilitation for existing structures.

Essential duties include:

  • Leads the design of transportation structures such as bridges and culverts
  • Leads and/or assist with delivering successful bridge projects throughout the project delivery process including design, review, and quality control effort
  • Prepares structural reports, cost estimates, and calculations
  • Develops reports, specifications, drawings, and related documents to meet client requirements
  • Assists in the preparation of construction schedules and planning studies for projects.
  • Assists with field reviews of existing structures and project sites for proposed new projects
  • Evaluates the need for design changes and communicates appropriate recommendations to project manager or clients
  • Serves as a technical liaison with clients on project efforts and coordinates technical efforts within discipline areas
  • Assists in client development activities by preparing pricing, estimating, scoping, and marketing strategies for proposed projects
  • Consults with construction personnel concerning design constructability as related to field conditions, sequencing, and scheduling of construction activities
  • Provides technical support and visiting construction sites in support of construction activities and post design services
  • Mentors structural staff in technical design, modeling, and analyzing structural components
  • Assists other Stanley Consultants offices with delivery projects
  • Develops a network of contacts within Stanley Consultants to establish a two-way sharing of knowledge

Requirements  

  • BS in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering; MS in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering is preferred, but not required
  • Must possess at least 12 years of relevant experience
  • Must have active Colorado or Idaho professional engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 2 months
  • Design experience with AASHTO and other relevant codes and standards
  • Proficiency using MathCAD, STAAD.Pro, LPILE, PCAColumn, LEAP Bridge software, MDX, FB-MultiPier, Bentley/MicroStation products, Midas, LARSA 4D, or other equivalent CDOT/ITD and engineering standard bridge software
  • Requires significant experience preparing planning and final bridge design contract documents for state and local departments of transportation
  • Familiarity with bridge inspections and preparation of inspection documentation is preferred, but not required
  • Bridge design experience on projects within the state of Colorado or the state of Idaho; experience on Colorado Department of Transportation projects or Idaho Transportation Department a big plus
